Why KingSMTP exists

In 2015, I was building a project and needed a simple, reliable way to send transactional emails. I spent hours testing different providers — most were overcomplicated, required extensive verification, or came with pricing that made no sense for smaller senders.

None of them felt right. So I decided to run my own infrastructure — if I was running into these problems as a developer, chances were others were too.

“I needed something that just worked — clean deliverability, a straightforward setup, and no unnecessary friction. When I couldn’t find it, I built it.”

I spent two years setting up and refining the infrastructure in private, making sure everything performed reliably before opening it to others. KingSMTP launched in 2017 and has been running continuously since.

Eight years of building

2015
Frustrated with existing SMTP providers, I started building my own solution for personal use.
2017
After two years of private testing, KingSMTP launched publicly. First paying customers signed up within weeks.
2019
Added cryptocurrency payment support — Bitcoin, USDT, and Monero — responding to demand from privacy-conscious customers.
2022
Migrated to Postal, an open-source mail server, giving customers full delivery transparency and a 10/10 mail-tester.com score.
2026
Still bootstrapped, still independent. Continuously improving deliverability, adding features, and supporting customers directly.

Bootstrapped & self-funded

KingSMTP has never taken outside investment. The business covers its own hosting, infrastructure, and development costs through customer revenue alone.

That independence matters. There are no investors pushing for growth at the expense of quality, no data monetization to offset low prices, and no acquisition pressure that could change the product overnight. What you see is what you get — a focused, reliable service run by the person who built it.

The first two years were the hardest. Standing up a reliable email infrastructure from scratch, mastering the intricacies of deliverability, and acquiring the first customers - all at the same time, all self-funded.

Privacy, simplicity, reliability

KingSMTP is built around three principles that haven’t changed since day one:

Privacy first. We don’t scan your emails, sell your data, or require invasive identity verification. Pay with cryptocurrency if you prefer complete anonymity. Your emails are yours.

Simplicity over complexity. SMTP credentials, a clean dashboard, and an HTTP API. No unnecessary features, no bloated onboarding, no complicated pricing tiers with artificial limitations.

Reliability without excuses. A 10/10 mail-tester.com score, clean dedicated IPs, and a 99%+ inbox rate. If something goes wrong, you hear from me directly — not a support ticket system.
